This Privacy Policy explains how Streamsoft Studio d.o.o. (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Bookshelf mobile application and related services (the “Service”). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive basic profile information from that provider — typically your name and email address — and a unique account identifier. We do not receive your social account password.
Username. The unique username you choose on first sign-in.
Your content. The projects (book collections) and book entries you create, including titles, authors, cover images, publishers, years, ISBNs, and any notes — plus the usernames of collaborators you invite.
Scanned data. Barcodes and cover images you capture to add books. Images may be processed to identify a book and are not used for any other purpose.
Usage and device data. Basic technical information (app version, device type, crash and diagnostic logs) used to operate and improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
To provide core features: organizing collections, scanning and identifying books, search, and collaboration.
To sync your data across your devices and enable real-time collaboration.
To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. How information is shared

With collaborators. If you invite someone to a project, they can see that project, its book entries, and your username.
With service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the Service, including Google Firebase (authentication, cloud database, storage) and book-data providers (e.g. Google Books, Open Library) used to look up book metadata. These providers process data on our behalf.
Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content within 30 days, except where we must retain certain records to meet legal obligations. See Data Deletion.

5. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To do so, use the in-app account settings or contact us at the address below. For deletion specifically, see our Data Deletion Instructions.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
