Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Bookshelf mobile application and related services (the “Service”), operated by Streamsoft Studio d.o.o. (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Bookshelf. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
2. Your account
- Bookshelf uses social sign-in only — Apple, Google, or Facebook. You are responsible for keeping that account secure; anyone with access to it can access your Bookshelf data.
- You choose a unique username on first sign-in. Usernames that impersonate others, infringe trademarks, or are abusive may be reclaimed or removed.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
3. Your content
The projects, book entries, notes, and images you add remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, and display that content solely in order to operate the Service for you and for the collaborators you invite. We do not use your content to advertise to you and we do not sell it.
You are responsible for the content you upload, including having the right to upload it. Cover images and book metadata may be matched against or supplemented by third-party sources.
4. Collaboration
When you invite someone to a project, they can view and — depending on their role — modify that project, its entries, and the images in it, and they can see your username. Removing a collaborator stops their future access, but content they created may remain in the project. Shared projects may continue to exist for co-owners after you delete your own account.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Service to break the law, infringe intellectual property, or upload harmful, abusive, or unlawful material.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ data.
- Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or bulk-extract data from it.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. Third-party services
Bookshelf relies on third parties to operate — including Google Firebase for authentication, database, and storage, the Apple, Google, and Facebook sign-in providers, and book-data sources such as Google Books and Open Library. Their own terms apply to their services, and we are not responsible for content or data they provide.
7. Paid features
Some features may be offered as a paid upgrade or subscription. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store under Apple’s terms; billing, renewal, and refunds are handled there, and you can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings. Prices and the contents of a paid plan may change with notice for future billing periods.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Bookshelf running, but the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may add, change, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. When changes are material we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using Bookshelf and delete your account at any time — see our Data Deletion Instructions. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required by law.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Book metadata is supplied by third parties and may be incomplete or inaccurate. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts in Serbia, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
